RIVER OAKS COUNTRY CLUB WEDDING,HOUSTON-JESSICA + JOHN

Jessica and John’s wedding at River Oaks Country Club in Houston Texas had sun, wind, rain showers and high humidity. This did not dampen the celebration as family and friends gathered for the couple. In fact, it brought people closer together.

Nestled in a leafy suburb of Houston, I started shooting earlier in the day at the home of Jessica’s aunt. Pretty much all the bridesmaids gathered there along with the couple’s mothers for hair and makeup, while the guys met at St. Regis Hotel. From there we made a pit stop at Rice University to shoot a few pictures in-between heavy showers, before arriving at the ROCC. I’d forgotten how humid Houston gets compared to San Antonio as my lenses steamed up numerous times with the high humidity.

Jessica and John make such a lovely couple to photograph. John is shy of the camera (like me if you can believe that) and Jessica just photographs beautifully. They have a fun chemistry and it was really interesting for me to capture their story throughout the day.

Sincere thanks to my good friend and photographer Laura Sponaugle for joining me. The band Fidelity Maxx were just awesome and so much fun to talk to in-between sets. These guys are solid pros and sound amazing.
