Persian wedding ceremony and reception | Rumi’s Kitchen | Houston

Nardin and Kenny’s Persian wedding occurred in Houston, Texas, two weeks ago. I first met them in 2020 at her sister Nila’s wedding in Houston.

The couple’s Persian wedding, a beautiful continuation of their love story, took place at home and was followed by a reception dinner at Rumi’s Kitchen in Houston, Texas. My fondness for this couple began when I first met them at her sister Nila’s wedding in 2020, and it has only grown since then.

We start at Nila and Josh’s home as they prepare for the big day. The ceremony follows a traditional Persian/Iranian wedding. During the traditional Persian and Iranian wedding ceremony, Kenny and Nardin were seated by the sofreh aghd, the Persian wedding table. It is laden with many different elements, each carrying rich symbolism.

After the ceremony, we took a scenic drive through Memorial Park, capturing several stunning portraits. Our journey culminated at Rumi’s Kitchen, where we enjoyed a delightful family-style dinner. It was indeed a memorable day, and I am deeply grateful to the couple for entrusting me with the task of capturing their special moments.
