Earlier last week, I’m stoked to place 9th for this image in the WPJA Q3 2011 international competition. The WPJA is a wedding photojournalism website where brides and grooms can select photographers locally or from all over the world.
This afternoon, I’ve just been informed from Kevin Mullins, a friend of mine in the UK, that SWPP, the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers awarded my image silver. The WPJA results were announced yesterday for 2011 Q1 and I’m excited to earn a 10th place in the ‘details as found’ catergory. The WPJA~ Wedding Photojournalist Association is an international network of professional photographers whose work is regularly judged by award-winning photojournalists. Picture of the day ~ This image was one of the last images from Rohini and Roman’s wedding last year and was just a matter of getting the right angle and anticipating the moment. Also placed in the WPJA 2010 Q1 competition. Shows the festive spirit of Rohini and Roman’s Indian/Jewish wedding in Houston, Texas.

The ISPWP – International Society of Professional Photographers held their quarterly competition and I placed 2nd and 9th in the contest. Just sooo delighted. The 2nd place was for the ‘ceremony’ category and 9th place was for the ‘decisive moment’. Humbled and happy. You can see the rest of the ISPWP winners here.
