The DeBruce | New York | Wedding+Reception | Judy + Alex
Here’s a set of my favorite images from Judy and Alex’s wedding at The DeBruce in New York. I had the pleasure of meeting Judy and Alex through a referral from Shreya and Chris, a lovely couple I photographed last year. I’m so grateful for the referral because I immediately connected with Judy and Alex.
The DeBruce is nestled in 600 acres of grounds along Willowemoc Creek and features hiking trails, ponds, and views of the Catskills mountains. I hope the pictures I took show just how breathtaking it is.
The wedding weekend was full of wonderful moments, such as the Chinese Tea Ceremony, a cultural wedding tradition dating back to the Tang dynasty where the bride and groom serve tea to their respective families. Next was the reciting of the wedding vows in both Mandarin and English. Another highlight of the outdoor tent was when Judy and Alex danced the tango. It was truly a big deal!
I want to give a big thank you to the wedding planner, Naomi Abney, for her fantastic organization. It was also great to see my friend, Chris Lopez, who was the filmmaker hired for their wedding.
As a wedding photojournalist, I’m incredibly grateful to Judy and Alex for trusting me to photograph their day as unobtrusively as possible and capturing all the special moments in between. We start with the rehearsal dinner, followed by the wedding day. Enjoy!
